When Fatima arrived from North Africa she was alone, without any resources and was pregnant.
She had fled her home because her family didn’t approve of a relationship she was in, but now in Brussels she was very vulnerable, looking for work and living in a squat.
She gave birth to a boy and had to care for him, as well as try to find money.
Her vulnerability was made worse when riot police raided the squat and threw everyone out.
The area has active pimps and traffickers who could easily have tried to take advantage of Fatima’s situation, but Oasis soon got to know her and has been able to place her and her son in stable, safe accommodation through the generous donation of a supporter.
We continue to help them, as they get their lives back on track.
